In this episode, we’re joined by Fraser Cook, a PhD student and researcher focusing on biodiversity management, botany, and plant conservation, with a particular emphasis on the sustainability of ornamental plants in Indonesia. Having recently secured significant funding, Fraser is set to embark on extensive fieldwork across various regions in Indonesia, including West Kalimantan, Lampung, and South Sulawesi, areas closely tied to the ornamental plant trade. His research aims to develop sustainable practices within these communities to protect these plants in their natural habitats.
As we’ve discussed before, sustainability and conservation are deeply influenced by our actions as plant enthusiasts. Fraser shares his insights into his groundbreaking work, along with practical, mindful practices we can adopt to continue nurturing and enjoying our plants responsibly!
