In the past, we had certain rules in our church of what to wear. Nowadays, we understand that dress is more of a personal matter of how we come to God and our neighbor.
We want to grow in the mind of Christ. We take Apostle Paul’s words as a parallel, when he said that if what he eats offends his brethren, then he will not eat that. The same applies to the way we dress, however, let us remember that we are growing together in the mind of Christ, so we also do not have to be too sensitive about what other person is wearing either. Just as James said (cf. Jm 2:2-4) we cannot be judges, regardless of what our neighbor is wearing.
Additionally, there should be a certain sanctity when we come into the sanctuary of God, when we are in His nearness. Moses went to the burning bush and God said, Take your shoes [sandals] off, for you are in holy ground. God wanted to show Moses that there is a holiness that surrounds Him, that even reaches the ground around Him. This continues to be true in our days, in the divine service, regardless of where it is being held. In a way, our dress could be a form of worship.
Because of His unconditional love for us, He accepts us in any way, just as He accepted Adam and Eve when they were naked in the garden. However, He made clothes for them before they left. God accepts us as we are, but He also expects us not to stay in that place.
In summary, we:
• Should not judge anyone for any reason, including the way that they dress.
• Should not purposefully offend people with our dress, but also should not be so concerned with what people are wearing.
• Should understand it is a personal responsibility to respect God and not diminish the sanctity of an encounter with Him.

ESPAÑOL
En el pasado, teníamos ciertas reglas en nuestra iglesia sobre lo que se debía usar. Actualmente, entendemos que la vestimenta es más una cuestión personal sobre cómo nos acercamos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo.
Queremos crecer en el sentir de Cristo. Tomamos las palabras del Apóstol Pablo como un paralelo, cuando dijo que si lo que come ofende a sus hermanos, entonces él no lo comerá. Lo mismo se aplica a la forma en la que vestimos, sin embargo, recordemos que estamos creciendo juntos en el sentir de Cristo, por lo que tampoco debemos ser tan sensibles sobre lo que otra persona está usando. Tal como Santiago lo dijo (véase Santiago 2:2-4), no podemos ser jueces, independientemente de lo que nuestro prójimo está usando.
Adicionalmente, debe haber cierta santidad cuando venimos al santuario de Dios, cuando estamos en Su cercanía. Moisés fue a la zarza que ardía y Dios le dijo: «[…]quita tu calzado de tus pies, porque el lugar en que tú estás, tierra santa es». Dios quería mostrarle a Moisés que hay una santidad que lo rodea, que incluso llega al suelo a su alrededor. Esto continúa siendo verdadero en nuestros días, en el Servicio Divino, independientemente del lugar en donde se celebre. De una forma, nuestra vestimenta puede ser una forma de adoración.
Debido a Su amor incondicional por nosotros, Él nos acepta en cualquier forma, tal como aceptó a Adán y a Eva cuando estuvieron desnudos en el jardín. Sin embargo, Él los vistió antes de que partieran. Dios nos acepta como somos, pero también espera que no nos quedemos en ese lugar.
En resumen:
• No debemos juzgar a nadie por ningún motivo, incluyendo la forma en la que se visten los demás.
• No debemos ofender a nadie con nuestra vestimenta a propósito, pero tampoco debemos preocuparnos por lo que los demás están vistiendo.
• Debemos entender que es una responsabilidad personal el respetar a Dios y no disminuir la santidad de un encuentro con Él.
