Someone asked me how I handle rejection. I said, "Poorly and personally." I thought about it a little bit later and realized, the best way to handle rejection is to, "Share it before it becomes a secret." You have to tell someone else what happened or it will morph from an event to a secret to part of your identity. It's not easy, but sharing a rejection with a friend defangs and declaws the hurt.
