Summary: Our brains are creatures of habit, and they were designed to keep us alive. They like following patterns because when we follow patterns that we’ve had previously, it reduces the energy that we have to spend on thinking. So, when you’re in a pattern or when you’ve been doing something a certain way, your brain doesn't like to deviate from that way. In today’s episode, I’ll be sharing a bit about my goal of eating 2,023 servings of plants in 2023 and how I’m making the shift from not planning out what I eat ahead of time, to actually planning out what I eat ahead of time and sticking with it. I’ll also go into how our rebellious brains are creatures of routines, how they can get in our way when it comes to our goals, and how their desire for habitual patterns directly affects our ability to plan.
