Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

The word "delight" (strong's 6026) is the same word we find in Psalm 37:11, Job 22:26, Isaiah 58:14: to be soft, pliable, effeminate 

"Delight yourself" or be tender, be womanlike or delicate yourself to Yahweh, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

"Desires" (strong's 4862): request, petition, prayer, wish.

The picture here is that we do not approach God in this macho, tough, Schwarzenegger like muscles rather we go to Him in this tender, delicate, womanish position. But how to we get there?
