During risk assessment to determine project contingency, we are often very concerned with listing the threats on a spreadsheet to estimate the risks expected value, so we can determine contingency. Or we are used to run probabilistic analyzes based on a set of uncertainties. However, does this mean that we are increasing the project's chance of success?

John is an Honorary Life Member of AACE International, author of the “Project Risk Quantification” book and owner of Validation Estimating since 2005.
