Listen Later

This episode of the Kendra Maya podcast is part of a series on the fundamentals of the human mind and its environment from the perspective of Himalayan Yoga. It delves into the relationship of the mind with: (1) our body, (2) our relationship with ourselves and (3) our relationship with others and the world. Kendra Maya is a Himalayan Yogi from the Trilok Akhada.

In this episode, we have Maha Vrukayu (aka Nishant Raj) with us, who is a Yogi and student of Guru Pashupati from the 17,000 year old ancient Himalayan yoga school called Trilok Akhada. He is also an actor and a martial artist of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. You can connect with him @mahavrukayu on Instagram.

He asks the following questions:

(00:00) Introduction

(1:20) What is emotional trauma?

(5:00) What is the Yogic perspective of traumas that we carry from previous births? (10:55) How much does trauma impact a person's progress in life?

(21:50) What are the ways in which people can recover from deep seated long term emotional pain/abuse?

(26:26)What are the steps of the recovery journey?

Maha Vrukayu shares his experiences with trauma and recovery, using the steps discussed in the episode. It is quite clear that there is a root pain from the past that needs to be identified and removed. He shares his story in this awesome piece here: https://mahavrukayu.medium.com/the-un...

So, moving on requires the individual to realise the old Sanskrit adage "Om malam gatah, akalikam prachalati", as Guru Pashupati says, which means, "shit happens, immediately move on." But, with the lesson. And this lesson, is the change in the narration of the story you tell yourself about the root event.
