She was a teenager, young adulthood and its adventures beckoning. She had big dreams, to attend university, see the world, live life to the fullest. But as is often the case, life had other plans. She has persevered pain she wouldn't wish on her worst enemy and has the scars to show for it. She has battled addiction and mental health challenges and emerged with a depth of wisdom far beyond her years.
