Welcome Back Beauty's and Rockstars to another mint interview. This week we had on D. Jay McGrath. Deej grew up and spent his childhood in  Kindersley Saskatchewan. After his Midget AAA season he went off to play for the Everett Silvertips in the WHL. This was a big move for a 17 year old being so far away from home. Deej ended up playing for 2 seasons. After that he came home to play for his. home town JR A team Kindersley Klippers. With lots of pressure playing for the team he was once the water boy for when he was a kid. Deej escape was alcohol and drugs. He started going down a dark path but kept it to himself. Finally he couldn't take it anymore and reached out to his parents and filed them in with everything that was going on. This was the best choice he every made and prolly saved his life. Congrats on being 7 months Sober!!!! Deej realized that playing hockey for all those years there were others just like him. Had no one to talk to when going threw a rough time. So thats exactly what he is doing now! He speaks at schools, coaches hockey, lets everyone know that its ok not to be ok and he's always there to talk to. Deej is doing great things for the sport and helping out so many. Enjoy this interview as much as I did recording it!
