November is Pancreatic Cancer awareness month and we are featuring two special guests on the show. First we are joined by Dr. Anish Kirpalani who is the Chair of the Board of Pancreatic Cancer Canada. He is a practicing radiologist and researcher and has become a fierce advocate for improving pancreatic cancer outcomes after diagnosing his mother with terminal pancreatic cancer.
Joining him is my mother, Sharon Wahl. As many of you in my network know, I lost my father 8 years ago to this terrible disease. Since then my mother and my sister have raised awareness in Fredericton and I have tried to do the same in Newfoundland through our Purple Lights for John Campaign. This campaign has lit many of the buildings in our home towns purple and many of our friends and local businesses have participated to shed light on the disease.
