An estimated 179,000 people in the province live with pre-diabetes, diabetes, or are undiagnosed. Newfoundland and Labrador still tops the list with the highest rates of diabetes in the country, according to a new report from the Canadian Diabetes Association.
About about 35 per cent of the population — are either living with pre-diabetes, diabetes, or undiagnosed diabetes.
So today we are going to talk with Registered Dietitian Adrianna Smallwood who will walk us through what we should do to ensure we have the right nutrition when facing diabetes. We are then joined by Kevin Peters who is the founder of Diabetes for a day – a charity that funds research for type I diabetes by helping organizations learn healthy habits to keep them healthy.
