In this episode, I share an interview I did for the 30 Day Speaker Summit with Chase Gillis. Chase Gillis grew up with a severe stutter up until 19 years of age. He suffered because he couldn’t be his authentic self and dealt with many insecurities. He learned how to overcome his stutter and teaches others by following the path he went through by expressing authenticity.
Chase grew up feeling inferior in every way. He was extremely introverted and had a severe stutter. He felt like he didn’t belong anywhere. Chase even tried curing his own stutter by watching endless amounts of Youtube videos- which didn’t help at all. And so, he made a choice to improve his self-confidence. As a byproduct of self-development and loving himself, he was able to overcome his stutter. That was the beginning of his journey on embracing his authentic self.
Chase describes authenticity as being the true you when you are by yourself. When you are around others, that is when you start to repress or hold back.
However, being your true authentic self is when you reach high levels of self-confidence and being care-free.
In this episode you will learn how to use your authentic voice in all situations and to ignore your negative thoughts and be present in the moment.
Enjoy the show!
