This week I’m talking to Luke Gibbons. Luke did his Bachelor of Laws in Trinity College Dublin and wrote his paper in 2019 entitled “Corporate Criminal Liability for Environmental Wrongs”.

This paper is so important and outlines the problems when it comes to punishing corporations criminally for committing wrongs on the environment. Luke explains the issues that arise bringing the corporations to court in the first place, how the legal system has yet to catch up and find a way of finding corporations liable, and how difficult it is to outline proper sanctions too. This conversation was so fascinating !
