In this podcast Rebecca Dixon is talking with Maggie Rose about her debut mystery thriller novel Dark Dante.
Dark Dante is set in the enchanting city of Florence and sweet surroundings of Tuscany. The fluid narrative, apart from being beautifully detailed in its delivery, takes the reader on an exquisite journey through this ancient city steeped in cultural heritage and marvellous cuisine. Maria Farrell comes to Italy to claim a most unexpected inheritance of valuable paintings and property from an uncle whom she has never met. She arrives in Italy to learn that her uncle was murdered, and a series of mystery murders start to follow. Maria meets some very unusual characters, who the writer has skillfully developed and depicted. As Maria assists the investigations of these very brutal murders, she also learns a lot about Dante Alighieri and his history in Italy and why he plays such a big role in Italian literature. It seems that the murderer is obsessed with Dante…...Dark Dante is a book that you will not want to put down once you have started it, there is so much to learn and enjoy. A truly satisfying read. Maggie Rose uses modern language and a modern story to help give insight, awareness and understanding into what some may have thought as just stuffy out of date literature.
