Episode 8 opening hand, 2 player game, going 2nd:

Opening hand:

  • Carolina Wren. When played: Draw 2 cards.
  • Rock Pigeon. When activated: All players lay 1 egg. You lay 1 additional egg.
  • Common Goldeneye. Round end: Lay 1 egg on this bird for each other bird with a cavity nest that you have.
  • Goldcrest. When activated: Discard 1 card from your hand. If you do, play another bird in your forest. Pay its normal food and egg cost.
  • Sacred Kingfisher. Once between turns: When another player takes the “gain food” action, gain 1 grub, fish or rat from the bird feeder, if there is one, at the end of their turn.


Bonus cards:

  • Winter Feeder. Food remaining in your supply at game end. 4-6 food = 4 points, 7+ food = 7 points
  • Photographer. Birds with colors in their names.4-5 birds = 3 points, 6+ birds = 6 points


In the tray:

  • Lewin’s Honeyeater. When activated: Choose 1 other player. You both gain 1 nectar from the supply
  • Desert Wheatear. When activated: For each bird in your grasslands with an egg on it, roll any 1 dice. Choose 1 type of food you rolled and gain 1 of that food from the supply.
  • Audouin’s Gull. When activated: Draw 2 cards from the deck. Tuck 1 behind this bird and keep the other.

Opening hand

  • Black Redstart. Round End: Choose a habitat with no eggs. Lay 1 egg on each bird in that habitat.
  • Autralian Owlet-Nightjar. Once between turns: When another player takes the "gain food" action, gain 1 grub from the birdfeeder, if their is one, at the end of their turn.
  • Yellowhammer. Round end: If you used all 4 types of actions this round, play another bird. Pay its normal food and egg cost.
  • Pheasant Coucal. Once between turns: When another player takes the "lay eggs" action, lay 1 egg on this bird.
  • Green Pygmy-Goose. When activated: Draw 2 cards from the deck, keep 1 and give the other to another player.


Bonus cards:

  • Wetland scientist: Birds that can only live in the water. 5 birds = 7 points.
  • Rodentologist: Birds that eat rats. 2 points per bird.


The tray:

  • Wood Stork: When Played: Draw 2 bonus cards and keep 1.
  • Moltoni's Warbler: Round end: If you used all 4 types of actions this round, play another bird. Pay its normal food and egg cost.
  • Silvereye: When activated: All players gain one nectar from the supply.
