According to the World Health Organization over 100 million women around the world use oral contraceptives as their birth control plan. Since the pill became available in 1960 it has been one of the most commonly used forms of birth control for females between the ages of 15-49.

Although highly effective “the pill” is known to have adverse side effects including nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, missed periods, weight gain, mood changes and decreased sex drive.
