Iman is many things: style icon, model, actress, entrepreneur, activist. This week we take a look at her life and the stories behind each of these roles. Growing up in Somalia and Egypt, Iman never planned to be a model. Instead, she had her sights set on political science. A chance encounter with Peter Beard changed that and less than a year later Iman found herself in the pages of Vogue. But she knew modeling wasn’t the end goal – it was simply a business. She translated her success into many other ventures including Iman Cosmetics, Global Chic and countless charity and social justice roles. So inspiring! Plus in Style Snacks, we have more fashion shows and digital winners this week than last. Whether it was Miuccia’s last solo show for Prada, Loewe’s show in a box, Margiela’s (missing) documentary or Gucci’s staff lookbook, we really enjoyed this week’s presentations. The only sour note to the week, the US government is moving forward with a 25% tax on French luxury goods. Buy your bags while you can!
