This year has been one of reflection. And when looking back, one can’t help but also look forward. As we begin to emerge from our Covid quarantines, we’re wondering what we can expect from the fashion industry. This week, we discuss the big themes we expect to see and the trends we think will continue. Sustainability, the rise of ecommerce, exceptional personal service, inclusion and diversity, resale, quality over quantity and cyclical fashion all have a place moving forward. And we couldn’t take a look at the industry without thinking about the future of RWCT and our place in it. Listen in to hear what’s happening. Plus in Style Snacks, Psykhe is live and kinda like the shopping version of online dating.

Futuristic meets fetishism, Thierry Mugler’s designs have always stood out among his peers. His ability to craft garments that feel all at once relevant and yet still futuristic almost 30 years after their creation is impressive to say the least. This week, we take a look back on his career and most memorable shows - and there were a lot to choose from. We also take a look at what he’s been up to lately, #Muglarized. Plus in Style Snacks, Gucci gives us a talk show, Kris Van Assche is out at Berluti, Burberry and Balenciaga show their Fall 21 collections and we get our first look at the Halston Netflix limited series.

Luxury conglomerates are commonplace now, but back in the 1980’s the idea was laughable. Why would you amass so many brands under one umbrella? What benefit could that possibly serve? Well if you’re Bernard Arnault or Francois Pinault, I’d say the benefits (or profits rather) have been sizeable to say the least. This week we take a look at what you should do when you buy (or relaunch) a brand and the luxury powerhouses behind some of the biggest acquisitions. Plus in Style Snacks, we chat about Bill Nye the Fashion Adviser Guy, The Met Gala’s new theme, Burberry’s Royal Warrant, Celine and Dior’s latest shows and Gucci’s 100 year blowout collection.

What does your favorite piece of clothing mean to you? What memories does it invoke? Has it become more than just clothing? Netflix’s new series Worn Stories, based on the book by Emily Spivack, explores just that. Organized by themes, the show takes a look at people’s deep connection to what they wear. This week we reflect on the series and our own Worn Stories. Listen in to hear what we consider to be the most meaningful piece in our closets and how it ended up there. Plus in Style Snacks, we say goodbye to Prince Phillip, hello to Anya Hindmarch’s new village, nice job to Will.I.Am’s new hi tech mask and thank goodness for the return of the Met Gala.

Hey Upper East Siders, we’re calling all Gossip Girl fans to join us this week as we take a look back at some of the show’s most memorable looks and the lasting impact of the now iconic show. Few other shows have captured a character’s essence as well as this show did. I mean, you say Blair Waldorf and you immediately think headband. Chuck Bass? Velvet blazer and cravat. Serena van der Woodsen? Boho chic jetsetter. We also muse on what to expect from the reboot and designers we need to see on the cast. Plus in Style Snacks, Jacquemus hosted a flower pop up shop in Paris, Lady Gaga pairs up with Dom Perignon, Italian brands are pitching in on the vaccine campaign, Revolve will sell you a vaccine ready shirt, shakeups at Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta is releasing a quarterly digital journal.

It’s our birthday episode! After a year of lockdown, we tentatively decided to venture out into the real world for some in person shopping. Of course, we made sure to do so in a responsible manner complete with double masks and an appointment to avoid overcrowding. Our first (and only) stop was Mod + Jo, a boutique jewelry company with their only brick and motor store in Dallas’s Bishop Arts District. Listen in to hear our experience and personal picks, including Liz’s permanent addition. We also reflect on what it means to enter your 30’s and how our personal styles have evolved over the years. Hint, it’s all about becoming comfortable in your own skin. Cheers to another year!

With another busy fashion month behind us, we wanted to take a minute to catch up on some Style Snacks. First, we reflect on the incredible career and loss of Elsa Peretti, legendary Tiffany jewelry designer. We also discuss the controversial hiring and eventual firing of Alexi McCammond at Teen Vogue. In more positive news, Anouck Duranteau-Loeper was named the head of the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Féminine, the governing body of women’s fashion in France. Then it’s time for designer news! Gucci announces their next show and sells digital sneakers. Yes, that’s really a thing. Hermes and Stella McCartney look to fungus for materials. Then a whole bunch of brands do a whole bunch of collabs, Paris Hilton and Brad Pitt star in (separate) ad campaigns and Vogue releases the top accessory trends for Fall 2021. And because we couldn’t resist, who’s curious in drunk shopping? Well apparently a lot of people are because it is a $26 billion habit.

Hello ski vibes! A seemingly unlikely combo, we saw a ton of ski lodge, parka vibes coming out of Paris this Fall. But luckily it was balanced with the city’s usual level of aloof chicness, so thank goodness for that. Listen in to hear how our brackets shaped up with our final six pics, Each x Other, Elie Saab, Louis Vuitton, Dawei Studio, Courreges and Miu Miu. We also discuss Thom Browne, Dior, Chanel, Schiaparelli and Givenchy. Then in Style Snacks, we unpack the Meghan and Harry interview, LVMH is the most valuable European company now, Exor buys a piece of Christian Louboutin and House of Gucci looks AMAZING!

Why is it that Milan is always where things fall apart? This season was no different with our first no score show of the season. It wasn’t all rough going though. Listen in to hear the winners and losers for our picks: Drome, Alabama Muse, Marco Rambaldi, MSGM, OOF Wear and mooRER. And we’re finally able to round out New York with Alejandra Alonso Rojas. Plus in Style Snacks, we dissect the Andre Leon Talley house drama, talk all things acquisition with OTB buying Jil Sander, Kering taking a stake in Vestaire Collective and LVMH acquiring half of Jay Z’s champagne Ace of Spades and hit on some of this week’s show highlights.

London was probably our biggest wildcard this season as both our brackets were stacked with unfamiliar designers. Lucky for us, our picks served up some surprisingly fun, quirky and want to wear now looks. Listen in to hear our reviews for JORDANLUCA, Jamie Wei Huang, A.W.A.K.E Mode, Edward Crutchley and 16Arlington. And we have to give a special callout to Lupe Gajardo for serving up the funniest digital presentation we’ve ever seen. Seriously, it’s the perfect antidote to an industry that can take itself a little too seriously at times. We also jump back to New York for a quick look at Christian Siriano’s in person event. In our show centered Style Snacks, we take a look at Kim Jones first Fendi presentation, Khaite, Roksanda and Prada.
