Fashion Month is here! Sort of, kinda, I guess… Like everything else in 2020, fashion shows are operating a little differently and we’ve adjusted Game of Clothes to roll with the punches. This season we’re selecting one live runway show, one digital show and one freebie (because things are hard enough, okay?) to focus on in each city. Listen in to hear our new scoring and lineups. We also break down our New York results, which to be honest were better than we expected given the shorted schedule and limited participants. Did the fashion industry just wait all summer to then drop a ton of juicy stories this week? Seems like it. With so much going on before Fashion Month, we wanted to take this episode to catch up on all the exciting Style Snacks before we go into show mode. First up, we say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians (well not really since new episodes will still air in 2021). Then we move on to Influencer updates with Danielle Bernstein coming under fire (again) and Man Repeller dropping the “Man.” Next, things have spiraled out of control between LVMH and Tiffany in the most bougie lawsuit way possible. LVMH also made big designer announcements this week with the luxury conglomerate ending their relationship with Nicholas Kirkwood and then appointing Kim Jones the Artistic Director of Fendi. In other designer news, Demna Gvasalia launched Balenciaga’s channel with Apple Music by curating a 13 hour playlist and a product drop that looks suspiciously like a 2019 Vetements collection. Hmm… Marc Jacobs launched Heaven. Prada and Adidas Superstars are already sold out, creating even more hype as we head into their Spring 2021 digital presentation and Raf Simons debut. Saint Laurent captured a perfect blend of video and catwalk for their Men’s show – hello runway ON THE EIFFEL TOWER! And finally, the Paris show schedule has been announced, but some big names are missing…

Fashion Week IRL? Seems weird now, right? Well, Copenhagen tried for Spring 2021 with their hybrid of in person shows and digital presentations this week. While there were fewer designers showing this season, there were still standouts with Ganni, Stine Goya and Nynne. We also breakdown the Helmstedt and Munthe shows. In what has been a fashion drought of a year, Beyonce has finally come through and served up the digital experience we’ve been waiting for. Black is King is 90 minutes of non stop fashion, with over 100 looks and some serious styling. Working with Zerina Akers and team, Beyonce found the perfect balance of big name designers, lesser known brands, old and new world outfitting to create a stunning visual album. Listen in to hear some of our favorite looks and what really went into making the film. Iman is many things: style icon, model, actress, entrepreneur, activist. This week we take a look at her life and the stories behind each of these roles. Growing up in Somalia and Egypt, Iman never planned to be a model. Instead, she had her sights set on political science. A chance encounter with Peter Beard changed that and less than a year later Iman found herself in the pages of Vogue. But she knew modeling wasn’t the end goal – it was simply a business. She translated her success into many other ventures including Iman Cosmetics, Global Chic and countless charity and social justice roles. So inspiring! Whether it was Miuccia’s last solo show for Prada, Loewe’s show in a box, Margiela’s (missing) documentary or Gucci’s staff lookbook, we really enjoyed this week’s presentations.
