In 1991 a man drove through the front window of Luby's Cafe in Killeen, Tx and opened fire on the patrons. He singled out women and fatally shot 23 people in the cafe before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide after getting shot twice by responding police officers. At the time it was the worst mass shooting in American history and would stay that way until the Virginia Tech shooting of 2007.
