On Episode 82 of The Grant O Show, we sit down with Renee Brinkley, a lifelong servant leader whose career has helped shape public safety, reform, and community impact across Lafourche Parish.
For more than two decades, Renee served the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, holding multiple leadership roles including Executive Director of the Weed and Seed Crime Prevention Program, Corrections Department Head, and later Civil Division Department Head. She played a key role in reform initiatives within the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and helped guide the vision and development of the new Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex.
Now in a new chapter as Director of Human Resources Operations for Circle The Wagons, Inc., Renee continues to lead with a people-first mindset—bringing lessons from public service into the private sector. Her dedication extends far beyond her career, with deep involvement in Relay for Life, Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity, Leadership Lafourche, Lafourche ARC, and Cross Church of Houma.
In this episode, Renee shares:
• Lessons learned from leadership in law enforcement
• The realities of reform and change in corrections
• Transitioning from public service to human resources
• The importance of community involvement
• Leading with purpose through every season of life
This conversation is a powerful reminder that leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about service, integrity, and showing up for your community when it matters most.
