Joey (Katie Holmes) is late. As in she might be pregnant. And all she wants to do is talk to Pacey (Joshua Jackson) who is currently out of town camping with Doug. When Joey confides in Gretchen, she's told the real reason why Pacey is away.

Dawson (James Van Der Beek) worries about his relationship with Gretchen (Sasha Alexander) after she informs him that she applied for a job in Boston. 

Jack (Kerr Smith) tries to help Tobey (David Monahan) after he becomes the victim of a hate crime.
