The Burros of Berea sit down in the sanctuary of Berean Bible Church with Denise Sullivan, wife of our friend and author, Mike Sullivan, to hear her personal testimony. She was raised in the Church of Christ as a pastor's daughter in eastern North Carolina. Much like other testimonies we've heard, Denise tells us of living in two worlds, one based on church life and the troubles that can come with it and the other world of journeying outside of the church. Her story involves different types of abuse while growing up. Feeling a lack of self worth, she began looking for ways to cope that left her empty and feeling shame. She would later marry, have children and move to Western North Carolina to start her life. Suddenly she found herself in a scenario of divorce and the necessity of becoming the sole provider in her home. Then, at the age of 25, a friend spoke to her in regard to the grace of God that would change her life. It's a story of hardship, failure, determination and ultimately an encounter with the Redeemer that you'll never forget!
