Welcome back listeners. I had the pleasure of meeting SJ Tucker at Paganicon just the other month. We were going to record an interview there, but as conventions go, it was such a busy and crazy weekend. We ended up doing a Skype interview, which turned out to be so much better. She was so lovely. We talked about her work, her evolution as a song writer, self care, and the 100+ songs she has in her back pocket. I do hope you enjoy the interview.
S. J. Tucker’s music changes lives & gets the good stuff to those who need it, and she’s proud to contribute to the soundtrack of festival life. A performer well loved by witchy events at home and abroad since 2002, the feisty song-slinger came flying out of the Memphis music scene, guitar in hand and voice at the ready, and her feet have hardly hit the ground since. Whether you found her through solid crowd favorites like “Firebird’s Child” and “Hymn to Herne”, or you’re just encountering her spunky, healing spirit live on stage for the first time this year, S. J. (Sooj to fans and friends) has a song for you. Witches & Pagans magazine called her “the face of neo-tribal Paganism” and The Wild Hunt calls her work a surprise and a delight.
