Have you ever had something strange happen to you? I’ve had some pretty weird days, but I’ve never had a donkey talk to me. In a moment when Balaam was not listening to the Lord, God opened the mouth of the donkey so he could get his attention!

In Numbers 22, you will find the ruler Balak came to Balaam and asked him to curse Israel. Yet, instead of cursing Israel, God leads Balaam to bless Israel. Although a holy man, Balaam was tempted by this incredible offer to give him prestige and resources.

So Balaam got up, saddled his donkey and left the next morning to meet with Balak. That’s when God opened the mouth of the donkey to cause him to stop and listen to the Lord.

When we find ourselves living in disobedience to God’s will, Fido may not start a monologue, but God may use life’s circumstances to help capture our attention. Will you hear and follow as God leads in your life?
