Episode LVI: Consider the Adipose-ibilities

Listen Later

In this episode, Chad and Mike speak with Janet Peterson, a Professor of Kinesiology and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Preventive Care Specialist, about fat and fat tissue.  Fat cells, also known as adipose cells, store energy for the body to be accessed later.  Each cell likes to maintain a certain percentage of fullness, releasing hormones of hunger whenever their stored fat falls below this level.  Although this feedback makes traditional dieting very difficult, new research shows some optimism for how to live a healthy lifestyle for your body.
