Episode 6 will include an interview with Dr. Bob Lark, director of the Jazz Studies Program at DePaul University in Chicago. Dr. Lark is also an accomplished jazz trumpet player and big band leader and arranger with several recordings to his credit. We will be discussing the Jazz scene in Chicago prior to COVID 19 and what current recordings and projects Dr. Lark is engaged. My discovery composer of the week is Paul Wranitzky a highly respected contemporary of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven although overshadowed by them in the amber of neglect. I hope to lead you to discover music by this neglected master.
