Episode Ten - A Joe Savage Masterclass

Listen Later

Welcome to Episode Ten of the Talkin' Tynie Podcast.

In this episode, Alastair and Euan first sit down to discuss Celtic's controversial trip (holiday) to Dubai following backlash and criticism from supporters, the media, pundits and the government. They give their opinions on the comments made by both Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell.

They then move on to reflect on a disappointing defeat at Dens Park a few weeks prior where Heart of Midlothian were beaten 3-1 by Dundee. However, they do turn their attention to the most recent match, where Hearts beat Alloa 3-1 to create a seven point gap at the top of the Championship.

What looks like to be one of the best bits of business that Hearts have done in the recent years is the arrival of Joe Savage who officially took over as Sporting Director in early January and has had a very positive start, despite only being in the job a couple of weeks.

The boys discuss a number of decisions that have been made by himself, the club and Robbie Neilson with specific focus on Michael Smith's new contract, the signing of Gary Mackay-Steven and the departure of Olly Lee. Other areas such as future transfer signings and the importance of tying Andy Irving, Josh Ginnelly and Stephen Kingsley are also highlighted in this episode.
