The penultimate episode of the season covers a case that is almost too strange to be real.

The dismembered body parts of family man Bill McGuire are found floating in Chesapeake Bay, three hundred miles from his home in New Jersey. The police question his wife, fertility nurse Melanie McGuire who spins a tale of domestic abuse, gambling addiction and alcoholism. Detectives are forced to reconcile the conflicting accounts of Bill’s wife with those of his friends and colleagues.
