We’re finally here. Episode Two Hundred. The 4th year anniversary in full effect. I really hope this is listenable and interesting to everyone, because I spent a good long while trying to write this, plan this, and get this done. This group experience is closest to a “Theatre of the Mind,” with some physical props to help visualize things, type of Dungeons and Dragons game.
I borrowed some elements from DnD and Betrayal(House at Haunted Hill) to come up with this. We’re only playing with D6’s(six sided die), and each person gets two. You’ll be hearing me say things like BRAVE or SCARED. This is rolling with advantage(rolling twice and taking the higher number) vs. rolling with disadvantage(rolling twice and taking the lower number). But sometimes I’m also taking an average of the numbers. 12 points of health in two separate 6 point tracks, mental and physical. If mental runs out, the player goes insane. If physical runs out, the player dies. Honestly, the instructions were very loose but genuinely inspired by the prior 199 episodes of stories we’ve read on the show. I went back and compiled 1 thing per episode and added it to this campaign.
Some of the things are side-quests full of action, some are NPCS(non-playable characters) like enemies and allies or in-betweens, and some are nothing more than colorful flavor text, Easter eggs, or items for the players to find and use i whatever way they imagine they can.
I genuinely hope everyone enjoys LOTSA PASTA’s CABIN IN THE WOODS!
