We've all heard of human consciousness, and even animal consciousness… but could plants be conscious as well?
Join us as we survey the history of plant consciousness, beginning with Cleve Backster's controversial research from the 1960s which seemed to show that plants have emotions, and can communicate telepathically. Then continue with us as we move on to the subject of plant intelligence, examining the now-established science of plant communication, and the emerging fields of plant intelligence, plant learning, and even… plant neurobiology?
We continue on to a discussion of plant consciousness: what are the different models of consciousness, and which, if any, can be applied to plants? We then move on to ethics, and a discussion of how these topics might impact vegetarians, vegans, and the rest of us.
