On the eve of Easter Sunday, I had a moment of conversation with Adam, a friend of mine, my classmate at YTCS seminary. Adam is now living in his hometown in Myanmar, working as a pastor and a lecturer at one theological school in Myanmar.
During the conversation, Adam shares the journey of his life living under the militarization context in Myanmar, also his reflection which he summarizes as “there are those who got back home, those who cannot get back home yet, and those who will never get back home”.
Adam’s sister is still under arrest and couldn’t get back home yet while this conversation is taking place!
Adam shares the significance of paying the price for freedom; it is not about a sacrifice but rather a value beyond sacrifice.
May God of Life and Justice grant Adam and people who suffer under the military dictatorship the true light of life and true just-peace!
