In May 2020 Karen commenced as the first National Equine Welfare & Traceability Executive for Racing Australia with primary responsibility to implement world best practices and safeguarding the welfare and traceability of Thoroughbred racehorses in Australia. Prior to joining Racing Australia ion 2016 Karen was appointed the first Equine Welfare Manager for Racing NSW a role she held until July 2019. Karen has more than 20 years working in Media, Publishing and Marketing, Karen has a multi-disciplined skill set covering business leadership, marketing, consumer and customer data management, sales and operations. In 2015 Karen established a training facility that focused on preparing retired Thoroughbreds for life after racing, predominantly in the sport of show jumping, working with young riders and established international show jumpers.

David Nash has been an equine nutrition professional for over 24 years, with broad nutrition experience across all species.

David has formulated and developed feeds and supplements for many of Australia’s leading equine nutrition companies. In addition, he has developed and managed nutrition and quality teams that ensure the efficacy and safety of horse feeds across the globe. He has been instrumental in developing feed milling and design programs, quality control development, laboratory management and analysis, and pasture research.

As an equine nutritionist, David has provided advice on how to feed and manage horses in all disciplines. David contributes to articles about feeding and management of horses.

David is also an avid breeder and competitor. He has competed in numerous disciplines over the years but is currently breeding and competing Australian Stock Horses. He is also an accredited judge of the Australian Stock Horse Society. He has also held director positions for several national breed societies.

Henry was very fortunate to grow up around horses and has been riding since a very young age. Beginning his journey with the Pony Club, Henry has competed in Dressage, Showjumping, Cross-Country and Polo.

Henry has completed various work within the equestrian industry. Including: grooming for several stable yards, S&C coaching for the armed forces equine charity and writing and reviewing equestrian academic research.

Within S&C Henry has experience working with both elite and amateur level athletes within various sports. Including; Rugby, Hockey, Basketball, Swimming, Triathlon, Lacrosse and Motorsports.

Currently, Henry is publishing a journal article on polo rider injuries and working as a sports scientist and S&C coach in professional rugby.

Prior to her PhD in Veterinary Science from the prestigious Gluck Equine Research Center in Kentucky, she completed a BSc in Equine Science at the University of Limerick. An expert in the field of Equine Chronobiology, she regularly speaks at international veterinary conferences and contributes frequently to equine publications in relation to the influence of light on equine reproduction and performance.
