Today, we’re talking about something that runs through the core of everything I teach, everything I live, and everything I feel when I’m with my horses: Two-way communication.

Let me take you back to a moment with my brilliant, sensitive quarter horse mare, Catch. We were in the round pen, and I had one of those gut-punch realizations: I wasn’t in a conversation. I was giving a monologue.

So I stopped. I softened. I breathed.

And Catch… she came to me.

That was the day I stopped talking at my horse — and started communicating with her.
