BEGINNING OF WINTER

Water begins to freeze.

The earth begins to harden with frost.

Pheasants retreat into the great waters and become clams.

At this time of year, all things seem to turn inward, sink downward, and retreat from visible form. The manifest energy of the world withdraws toward its source, while its quiet workings continue in places beyond the reach of the naked eye.

The Dao never rushes. It simply allows all things to move in accordance with their own season，to withdraw when it is time to hide, to move when it is time to act. And even in concealment, movement continues.

Our Safari is not guided by the scorching sun or clouds of dust, nor is its purpose to conquer or arrive at a destination. The soundscape and architecture of this EP are a response to Lidong, the Beginning of Winter, and its quiet paradox of movement within concealment.

These sounds emerge from different directions. At times, they resemble hidden currents flowing beneath a sheet of ice; at others, they evoke ancient echoes buried deep beneath frozen earth, waiting long beyond the reach of memory. Yet they all point toward the same truth: when the Dao reveals itself in winter, it is no longer the brilliant blaze of a campfire, but the lingering warmth that remains after the flames have faded.

Safari was never meant to be a hunt for the purpose of taking life. It is a journey into the depths of our origins.

立冬：

水始冰，地始冻，雉入大水为蜃。

万物在这个时节不约而同地选择了向内收、向下沉、变为无形的姿态，将显化的能量收回根源，在肉眼注意不到的地方继续运转。“道”从不催促，它只是让万物在各自的时节里，完成该有的运动，该藏时藏，该动时动，藏即是动。

我们的这场“Safari”，不以烈日和尘土为坐标，不以抵达和征服为目的。这张EP的声场和架构，是对立冬时节这种“藏中之动”的回应。这些声音来自不同的方向，时而如冰面下的暗流涌动，时而像冻土冰原下埋藏已久的远古回音，却都指向同一件事：“道”在冬日里的显形，不再是明艳的篝火，而是温暖的余温。 

Safari从来不应该是一场以夺取生命为目的的狩猎，而是一场向根源深处的远行。

Ale lives in Zürich Switzerland and he plays in Zürichs underground clubs. his musical roots lay in the hip-hop of the 90s and 2000s, when he did his first scratches as a DJ. After a long break, he discovered his love for electronic music.

Today, Ale is back behind the decks. His sets are downtempo—dark, trippy, and bouncy psychedelic. But he also feels at home in faster spheres, meandering through electronic music.

It's Lìqiū (Beginning of Autumn) again, it's the time of our annual selected compilation again. As always, it is built by 12 tracks selected from 20 EPs released over the past two years. Some of these songs may not for dancefloors. They are the ones that grew downward, slower, deeper, and more patient.

Dao De Jing has a line: “归根曰静，是谓复命”. To return to the root is called stillness, this is called returning to one's own life. Pulse was the rhythm. Root is what a rhythm needs underneath it, to keep beating.

Autumn rarely arrives all at once. The heat holds on for weeks past the date on the calendar. Awakening the same. Gradual, easy to miss while it's happening, visible mostly in hindsight.

"Root" is both an action and a state. It means staying in one place long enough to begin growing downward; long enough to stop chasing noise and volume, and start listening to the soil; long enough to realize that true awakening is when your feet loosen their grip and your crown reaches upward.

This is it, a compilation about both descending and ascending, waiting for yourself to wake up in the depths.
