The sentiment that the "era of reconciliation is over" was expressed by Indigenous activist and University of Toronto lecturer Riley Yesno in response to the new energy agreement between Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith. 
The agreement, which aims to facilitate a new oil pipeline to the B.C. coast, has drawn sharp criticism from several First Nations chiefs in British Columbia, who reiterate that their "answer is still no" to the project.
