Kristina Smeriglio has always been fascinated by the complexities of the human experience. She strives to understand the roles of the mind and the heart, of the psyche and emotions, and so it has become the main theme of her work. Kristina focuses particularly on how the mind and our emotions are affected by our environment and experiences.

Kristina spends much of her time wondering about the human experience and exploring the age-old question, “why are we here?” She explored that same question and many others in her novel, Falling Into Fire, as she dove deep into The Garden of Earthly Delights, the painting by Hieronymus Bosch.

Kristina has a Master’s degree in Writing, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a license in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. She combines all this knowledge and wealth of experience in her writing and editing. She currently lives in Miami, FL, where she works as a copywriter and editor for entrepreneurs. Using a holistic approach, she helps clients get to the heart of their message so they can communicate it effectively and achieve their true intentions through writing.your reading pleasure.

Anne Butler Montgomery has worked as a television sportscaster, newspaper and magazine writer, teacher, author, and amateur sports official. Her first TV job came at WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia, and led to positions at WROC-TV in Rochester, New York, KTSP-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, and ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, where she anchored the Emmy and ACE award-winning SportsCenter. She finished her on-camera broadcasting career with a two-year stint as the studio host for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. Montgomery was a freelance and/or staff reporter for six publications, writing sports, features, movie reviews, and archeological pieces. Her novels include Your Forgotten Sons, The Castle, A Light in the Desert, Wild Horses on the Salt, The Scent of Rain, and Wolf Catcher. Montgomery taught high school journalism and communication skills for 20 years and was an amateur sports official for four decades, a time during which she called baseball, ice hockey, soccer, and basketball games and served as a high school football referee and crew chief. Montgomery is a foster mom to three sons and a daughter. When she can, she indulges in her passions: rock collecting, scuba diving, theater, and playing her guitar.

Sarena Straus writes novels for the curious and adventurous, for people who are intrigued by a “what-if” scenario and like to explore the outcomes. Her characters are ordinary people who find out that they are capable of extraordinary things and discover that one person can truly make a difference. After receiving a BA in art history and political science from Barnard, Sarena graduated from Fordham University School of Law. She then worked for five years at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office (BXDA), where she prosecuted sex crimes and child abuse cases. After leaving BXDA, she published a true-crime memoir, Bronx DA: True Stories from the Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence unit (Barricade, 2006). In 2010, her book sold as a TV Pilot to CBS/Paramount. She’s gone on to publish numerous legal articles and works of poetry and was an editor for a legal magazine. For a few years, she was also a talking head, commenting on current criminal cases in the media on tv and radio. Today, she lives in Hudson Valley, NY with her husband, two children (also budding writers), two naughty Labrador retrievers, and two barn cats. She is now working on sequels to her debut novel REINCEPTION. When not writing or lawyering, Sarena loves to scuba dive, take photographs, and travel off the beaten path. Bio

Originally from Syracuse, New York, Ms. Strader moved to Prescott, Arizona with her family in 1972. In 1976, she became one of the first women hired on a U.S. Forest Service fire crew.

Summers of Fire: A Memoir of Adventure, Love and Courage, was released on May 1st, 2018 by Bedazzled Ink Publishing. Her publishing history includes many web articles about writing memoir, her publishing and marketing experiences, and wildland firefighting. She has given talks on these topics to many clubs, including the American Association of University Women. Parade Magazine published an excerpt in 2018, and the PBS show Arizona Illustrated featured her segment “Wildland Firefighter,” in the fall of 2019.

The prequel to Summers of Fire, Uprooted: A New Life In The Arizona Sun, was released by Bedazzled Ink Publishing on December 1st, 2021.

Ms. Strader holds two degrees: a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, and a Master’s in Planning from the University of Arizona. In addition to writing, she is a landscape architect, certified arborist, and watercolor artist. She currently lives in the same area where her Forest Service career began.
