This is Sophia Perricone's second visit to the podcast - her first in studio. Her first visit was as she was departing NBC24, which was her first gig; which to me was dumbfounding because of her grace, poise and talent. Then headed out to Vegas, then back to NYC, where she went to school, and then she wound up back here...at WTOL. There was some confusion. I thought I was asked to be further involved in the first ever Revitalized Behavioral Healthcare mental health gala. That's OK. This was a fantastic half hour getting to know Samantha and Tiffany and this effort they're SO incredibly passionate about. You know we often talk mental health but I always relish the opportunity to do so when it comes to the issue in Black and POC communities. The feelings are the same, but the causes can be SO different.

Director and dancer extraordinaire Dom Glover returns as he has a production of Memphis happening at the Rep in June. To be blunt, (AND GOOD THING I DON'T GET FEDERAL FUNDING, F THEM) Dom is on the hunt for Black performers...and then hopefully a Black audience. I asked around and we don't have any organized community of Black performers who are seeking to hit a stage. BUT those individuals may be out there, and Dom wants them! Let's add Black excellence to our already bright and thriving performing arts community.
