Warning. This is a long episode.
Some quick local news things. I need to do a better job of that. We talk about issues of note, but I can keep you informed too!
Metroparks was Riverwalk feedback, so my Soccer on Summit dream!
One of the popular dating apps has a super crappy bug in it.
The bike-everywhere, no-cars-ever people need to widen their gaze, as they want car addicts to do.
Mary Bilyeu, now two months into her gig at the Jewish Federation, is on as her inter-faith Seder is this weekend. And baseball is next week. Baseball means ballpark food! She's also over your eggflation bemoaning. I pitch her my JFed-events-can-be-bigger idea.
No disrespect to the many other officers that have visited before to solicit for academy applicants, the trio of Ofcs. Mclendon, Balboa and Long were a blast! I appreciate that Ofc. Long shed insight about where he grew up, and how it's possible for younger version of him to walk in his footsteps.
First, I'm glad my sidewalk isn't jacked up!
I get to catch up with my friend Matt Melzak from the currently unbeatable Toledo Walleye, to talk about their season to date, and playoff hopes, then preview a bit of what we can expect from 2023 Mud Hens.
But, to keep you here, we start with Matt's first 11 months as a dad!
The Lady Rockets pulled off a minor upset Saturday night over Iowa State. That landed them a matchup with one of the most decorated women's college basketball programs in history, the Tennessee Volunteers, who are 14.5 point favorites tonight.
Thanks to good friend and former coworker Jim Heller, play by play for the Lady Rockets, for joining me to talk about Saturday's win and what the Rockets face tonight.
Before I share some thoughts about my Mom and some of things my brother found of hers (including MUST SEE pics I've shared on social)...

I finally got to us ChatGPT is an immensely helpful professional way!
It's been some time, perhaps the entirety of COVID since my good friend Laura Simmon-Wark from Humane Ohio has had a chance visit.
Bad news, no four legged friends with her.
Good news, so much helpful local pet insight.
First, a weird and sad story about a home seller in Perrysburg.
I SO love listening to Ke Huy Quan and his gratitude and humility!
I typed up a blog post. But didn't share because I thought it might be tone deaf to some. Then I heard my favorite Billy Joel song, and with the perspective I hit POST.
May 10th is mental health night and June 3rd we dive into books with the East Toledo Family Center. If you're here just for Jodi and Shelby hop to the 16:00 mark
A few weeks ago I attended a TPD quality of life meeting. I was struck by Patrick Harvey and his insight about the South Toledo block/neighborhood watch he helps oversee. There's very little funding needed to make these as successful as Patrick's is. I hope wherever you live, you can heed some of Patrick's tips and incorporate to your community.
Also, he's running for city council. If you're here just for Patrick hop to about the 16:45 mark.
Before Patrick...an observation of our local news outlets, UT (possible) disappointment, erase this phrase from your lexicon, and perhaps a way to successfully meditate!
Two years will be here fast and I promise the riverwalk will be unlike anything you've seen, at least in our area.
Alex has some valid concerns as GCMP is completed though.
It's more like I'm paging my Dad, rather than calling him. My impatience strikes again.
Chris Rock going in on Will Smith.
The penultimate episode of Last of Us.
After a lot of emails, legal hoops, begging and transferring of...
Oh nevermind. None of that happened. We've spoken about her enough so I figured I'd see if Meaghan would join today's episode because it would make Bethany and Alex joyous!
The Chat Roulette story.
LOTS of Drag Race convo. Fave seasons, cast members and more...
And please support Meaghan's support of our YWCA!
