  • Hair Transplants and a Bad Date (EDAT 6)

This week I ramble about joining an online hair transplants forum, and a date that took an unexpected dump after I unhooked a woman's bra while making out.

If you know of a literary agent or anyone who might be interested in hiring me as a writer on a TV show or some other job in the entertainment industry, good god let me know.

  • Chicago Cubs Baseball and Sexual Assault (EDAT 3)

This episode Eric and Caroline Allen head out to a Chicago Cubs baseball game right here at Wrigley Field. Wrigleyville in general can be a pretty scary place to hang out, with beer bottles, vomit, and insults being hurled through raucous crowds. But for all the excitement that comes with trying to get into the game, how much excitement do we get out of it? Caroline and Eric talk about their feelings towards baseball in general, the Cubs, and why it feels like such a long time since baseball has truly been "America's pastime."

Of course you can't talk about professional sports without somehow slipping into a discussion about sexual assault and gender politics. We talk about the infamous Brock Turner Stanford rape case and conviction, women in the entertainment industry, and eventually Whitney Houston.

  • Whirlyball in Chicago (EDAT 2)

This episode Eric and friends head out in Chicago to play the regionally popular, but nationally largely unknown game of Whirlyball. Whirlyball is essentially a game of lacrosse meets bumper cars, with the added advantage of being able to drink beforehand. Eric, along with Herschel Kissinger, Michael Boothby, and Dan Pearson play the game and then live to tell the tale of why this might be the best date idea ever.

Also, be sure to check out Chicago SantaCon 2016 tomorrow, December 10.

  • The Improv Retreat and Standup Comedy vs. Improv (EDAT 1)

On this inaugural episode, Eric sets off to The Improv Retreat, an annual summer event in the woods of Wisconsin that's part comedy workshop, part spiritual getaway.

Upon returning, Eric and improvisers Thomas Clune and Michael Boothby, as well as sex-positive champion Chris Pent discuss the retreat and its many happenings. This leads to a debate about the fundamental differences between the scripted and solo nature of standup vs. the improvised and communal nature of improv performance. We eventually dig into nuances such as consent in scenes, and of course what may or may not go down in the fabled Gables Up cabin.
