    Why avoid news? It is like the human centipede of shit and fear. You keep consuming more fear, and you feel more fearful. You become more timid, scared, and paralyzed.

    Your personal interests and the interests of the news and media isn’t aligned.

    Consider– social media and these corporations are ‘fear merchants’. They aren’t incentivized to give you truthful information or news. Their ultimate goal is to maximize profits– via advertising. Their only incentive in making things ‘truthful’ is only insofar-much as people stop using their platform, which will result in less money earned and fewer profits.

    Thus ask yourself:

    Is it in the best interests of the news to give me the most personally-relevant, accurate, and useful information?

    Probably not.
