Data provided by Europe’s space telescopes, observatories and planetary missions are bringing us close to than ever to understanding our Universe.

The European hub for Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is situated in Dwingeloo in the Netherlands. It is here, at the Joint Institute for VLBI in Europe (JIVE) that the signals of radio telescopes are processed.

The new 5.5m tracking station on Santa Maria island was formally inaugurated into the ESTRACK network yesterday.
