Cs: Na začátku podzimu, kdy se šustily suché listy po opuštěném dvoře psychiatrické léčebny, začala podivná série událostí.
En: At the beginning of autumn, when the dry leaves rustled across the deserted courtyard of the psychiatrické léčebny, a strange series of events began.
Cs: V jedné z chladných, mořskou zelení natřených místností leželo prázdné lůžko.
En: In one of the cold, sea-green-painted rooms lay an empty bed.
Cs: Pacient, který tu měl být, zmizel.
En: The patient who was supposed to be there had disappeared.
Cs: Byl to podivný případ.
En: It was a peculiar case.
Cs: Dveře byly zamčené, okna zamřížovaná.
En: The doors were locked, and the windows barred.
Cs: Adam, jeden z pacientů, toho záhadně zmizelého zpočátku nevnímal.
En: Adam, one of the patients, did not initially notice the mysteriously missing person.
Cs: Pořád ho sužovaly jeho vlastní sny, výjevy úniku a zmizení.
En: He was continually tormented by his own dreams, visions of escape and disappearance.

En: She knew more than anyone could imagine.
Cs: Možná právě ona měla klíč k záhadě.
En: Perhaps she held the key to the mystery.
Cs: Jednoho podmračeného odpoledne se Adam rozhodl.
En: One overcast afternoon, Adam made a decision.
Cs: Musel se dozvědět více.
En: He had to find out more.
Cs: Přisedl k Petře.
En: He sat down next to Petra.
Cs: "Petro, víš něco o tom zmizení?" zeptal se tiše.
En: "Petra, do you know anything about the disappearance?" he asked quietly.
Cs: Petra se na něj podívala svýma hlubokýma očima.
En: Petra looked at him with her deep eyes.
Cs: "Čas tu plyne jinak," zašeptala.
En: "Time flows differently here," she whispered.
Cs: "Někdy se věci dějí mimo naší vůli."
En: "Sometimes things happen beyond our will."
Cs: "Tvé sny... nejsou jen iluze," dodala.
En: "Your dreams... they are not just illusions," she added.
Cs: Adamovi mráz proběhl po zádech.
En: A chill ran down Adam's spine.
Cs: Petra pak zmizela stejně nečekaně jako ten předchozí pacient.
En: Petra then disappeared as unexpectedly as the previous patient.
Cs: V jejím pokoji Adam našel prázdné lůžko a jemně pootevřenou tapetu na zdi.
En: In her room, Adam found an empty bed and a slightly ajar wallpaper on the wall.
Cs: Za ní byla úzká chodba, vedoucí někam hlouběji do útrob staré budovy.
En: Behind it was a narrow corridor leading deeper into the bowels of the old building.
