Today the 14th of July a free France celebrate the anniversary of their escape from the tyranny of the kings of their times. On the 14th of July 1789 the people of Paris stormed the Bastille and let loose the French revolution. The torch of liberty set afire that day never burned more fiercely than during the years when France was occupied by the Nazi. We escape tonight to occupied France from which in 1944 there was no escape.
