Escape the Ordinary 遠離平凡
     “Escape the ordinary,” what does it mean? Do we, sometimes, feel stuck in a routine and longing to live a life true to our dreams and passions? It is possible to escape the ordinary and create an extraordinary life, but it requires work and dedication. First of all, we have to define a vision of what our ideal lives will look like within 10 years. In fact, this vision will motivate us and give us direction. The sad truth is that most people, especially young folks, have lost the habit of dreaming big. However, this opens a window for us to succeed, and escape the ordinary. We need to take some time to think deeply about what we want to achieve, what we want to experience, and what kinds of persons we want to become. Next, we should examine our habits and daily actions. We ought to be aware of what needs to change before we can make improvements. We, then, spend less time on chores and small tasks that provide little meaning or value. It is up to us to decide what we can change and how. Once we have a clear vision of our dream lives, we set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. We set annual goals, monthly goals, weekly goals, and even daily goals. This will help us break down our visions into actionable steps that we can take to make our dream lives a reality.
Finally, we take action. The ordinary life feels comfortable and safe, but it is very limiting. We start pushing our boundaries, taking risks and trying new things that challenge and excite us. We, then, develop a detailed action plan that outlines the specific steps for us to achieve our goals. We carefully break down our goals into smaller, manageable tasks, and set deadlines for each task. We choose the first step in our plan, and focus our energy on completing it before moving on to the next one. This will create momentum and help us build self-confidence. We should take action on a daily or weekly basis, depending on the size and complexity of the tasks. Consistency is what separates good from great work, and will determine if we will escape the ordinary or live in mediocrity.
Of course, along the way, we may encounter obstacles or setbacks. We have to be flexible and adjust our action plans as necessary to keep moving forward. This is the most important step because it will determine if we achieve our goals or not. We, afterwards, stay focused on our goals and stay motivated by keeping our visions in mind. Notwithstanding, procrastination can hold us back from what we are capable of. Creating an extraordinary life is a journey, not a destination. If we’re willing to put the work in, we can live the lives we want. If we want to pursue our visions and dreams passionately, we should get outside our comfort zone, surround ourselves with the right people, and, then, later on, an amazing life, certainly, awaits us. “Escape the ordinary” is not hard, though. It is easy enough to escape the ordinary since everything we did before was new and unknown. We, indeed, go forth into every foreseeable tomorrow unapologetically in order to pursue our passions.
    哲學家盧梭說:生活得最有意義的人,並不是年歲活得最長的人,而是對生活最有感受的人。在目前的生活中,如能持續享受著那看似微不足道的儀式感,使日復一日的生活,透過細心感受,體會不同的幸福,那就是遠離平凡了。每天早晨,我們與綠色小植物們,道聲早安,讓陽光熱情地灑落在我們自家的陽台與窗台,顯得閃閃動人。在出門前,我們仔細觀察綠色植物,看看它們是否長高長胖了,果實是否越來越大,是否又開花了。透過這樣的早晨儀式,我們感謝生命的美好。接著,在工作忙碌之餘,我們讀本好書,就算一頁也好。生活中的大小任務繁雜,時間被切得零碎,閱讀一本書的時間,彷彿無止境的漫長。但,趁著空檔,我們讀些文章,如散文、小說等,為我們的靈魂,注入能量。於星期假日,我們遠離市區,前往近郊,享受春日青草和煦,及舒服的微風。我們也可去公園散步,或去野餐,時刻享受當下,感到幸福,愛上生活。我們可常常為家人做份小吃,讓日子有些驚喜與樂趣,香味瀰漫家中,家庭生活,處處都可存在著精緻與質感。夜晚來臨,我們點燃天然的精油蠟燭,散佈於空間中,香氣怡人,精神為之舒服與放鬆。雖然儀式感看似普通平凡,但當它們存在於日常生活,融入生命之中時,彷彿我們每天的日子,都有了意義,透過小事,回歸生活本質,進而感受到美好,我們的內心,是踏實且滿足的。每天,我們都可以遠離平凡。
