I’ve been thinking a lot about how often we're pushed to pick a side. You're either right or wrong, in or out, for something or against it.
But the more I look around, the more I realise how limiting that kind of binary thinking really is.
In this episode, I'm unpacking what binary thinking is — and how it shows up everywhere, from politics and gender to sport, prisons, and even day-to-day arguments.
I also talk about:
Where it can be harmful
Why the need to be “right” is often driven by ego
The difference between an argument and a discussion
Where binary thinking can actually be helpful
And how to shift towards more nuanced, open-minded thinking
If you're feeling stuck between two extremes, or just want to stop living in a world of black-and-white, this might be the perspective you didn’t know you needed.

All ideas discussed in this episode are subjective and subject to change over time. I am never saying my ideas are the only truth. Everyone has to make their own decisions on what they think and what they believe.
Any generalisations or nuance missed is never meant as a deliberate act of ill will towards any specific persons or groups.
It is my hope that my ideas will be just the catalyst for your own questions and journey around this subject.
