On today's Esports Minute, Mitch takes us through the most dominant team in collegiate esports. The University of California Irvine has won three collegiate LoL National Championships and goes for a fourth next week. A lot of the programs success started with Mark Deppe.
Deppe developed a business plan for UCI esports in 2015 and the college opened the first esports arena on a college campus in 2016. Now they are one of the most dominant programs in the nation. You can hear the full interview with Deppe that covers the origins of the UCI program, how collegiate esports has changed and what role college programs will play in the wider esports industry.
