“The following text messages are part of a larger series sent to me as I tried to understand why Steve Harvey continued to lie about me and subject me to ongoing harassment. I received no protection from law enforcement, while he had significant power and resources.”

  • ESSIE BERRY SURVIVED, THROUGH THE HURT & PAIN STEVE HARVEY CAUSED

My music is my release. It is how I breathe again. It is the only way I know how to place my past where it belongs—behind me—without pretending it never happened. For years, my emotions were violated, dismissed, and shattered, while Steve Harvey never once tried to make anything right. There was no accountability, no acknowledgment, and no concern for the damage that was done to my life.

What makes this pain even deeper is that he never took the time to know who I truly am. He never knew that I am a survivor. He never knew the battles I had already fought long before he and his power entered my life. I survived things that were meant to destroy me. I endured trauma that left me broken, lost, and confused, questioning my worth and my place in this world.

There were moments when I felt completely undone—like my voice had been stolen, like my spirit was trapped inside fear and silence. I carried wounds no one could see, and the weight of them nearly crushed me.

    But God spoke to me.

In my lowest moments, God reminded me that my soul was never meant to remain imprisoned by fear, lies, or injustice. He showed me that healing would not come through silence—it would come through truth. He made it clear that I had to let my soul be free.

And that freedom came through my music.

My music is not revenge. It is not hate. It is not bitterness. It is testimony. It is survival. It is the sound of a woman who refused to die in silence. Every note, every lyric, every breath carries the truth of what I lived through and the strength it took to survive it.

Through my music, I tell my story. Through my music, I reclaim my voice. Through my music, I heal.

This is how I allow my soul to speak when words alone are not enough. This is how I tell the truth God placed inside me. This is how I finally set myself free.**

  • ESSIE BERRY SURVIVED STEVE HARVEY ON FAMILY FEUD PLATFORM, 4 STALKING ABC KNEW IT

This video clearly demonstrates that Steve Harvey used the ABC Family Feud platform as part of an ongoing pattern of harassment and stalking directed at me, Essie Berry. What makes this especially disturbing is that this conduct occurred in plain sight—publicly, openly, and without fear of consequence.

Multiple individuals recognized what was happening and took the time to write to Family Feud and to ABC, expressing concern and asking that the behavior stop. Despite these warnings, the conduct did not stop. Instead, it continued, as though my safety and well-being were irrelevant.

Using a nationally televised platform to target, intimidate, or monitor a private individual is not entertainment—it is an abuse of power. It sends a message that someone with fame, influence, and access to major media can act without accountability while the person being targeted is left unprotected.

What makes this even more painful is that this harassment did not happen in secret. It happened in broad daylight, in front of millions of viewers, while I was already living in fear from years of intimidation and threats. Each public instance reinforced the feeling that I could not escape, that I was being watched, and that no place—online or offline—was safe.

I reported this behavior. Others reported it on my behalf. Yet no meaningful action was taken to protect me or even investigate what was happening. That silence from a major network added another layer of emotional harm. It felt like my life and safety mattered less than protecting a public image.

This video is not speculation—it is part of a documented pattern. It shows how influence and media access were allegedly used to continue harassment, rather than stop it. It shows how a platform meant for families was turned into a tool that caused fear, humiliation, and emotional distress.

I did not choose this. I did not consent to this. And I did not deserve to be targeted this way.

What happened to me was not accidental. It was sustained, public, and deeply damaging. This video matters because it shows the truth—openly, clearly, and without distortion.”
