In this sermon, we were reminded that the church is not a human project but a divine gathering, made possible because God sovereignly calls and gathers His people, places them in Himself and in His Son, and gives them an unshakable identity through union with Christ. And because we belong to Christ, we are defined by Him and sustained by His gifts of grace and peace. Our security does not depend on circumstances or the strength of our faith, but on the God who establishes His church and the Savior who holds it ever so fast."Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy,To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace."
