Instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all solution, Esther and Mordecai had to work within the system they were given, and while God was in control of the outcome, he used the channels humanity had put in place. But we also can’t place our faith in people to fight for us when no one can win the battles of your heart or character but you. We can’t place our faith in human hands. Esther’s story points to the sovereignty of God—absolutely—but it also shows us that our choices matter. We can choose to place our faith in Jesus because he is the only one who can bring peace everlasting.
